Why Join?
Why Join the Knights of Columbus?
Imagine being part of an organization that fills your heart and your mind with the joy of giving to others and the feeling that comes with making a difference.
Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life. Come see just what we are all about and take the first steps to enhance your personal life by viewing the segment, "Why Join?"
For an inspiring look at what it means to be part of the Knights of Columbus, see the video introduction, "In Service to One. In Service to All" (running time, 30 seconds).
Our eight-page Overview Booklet (pdf, 415k) gives additional information about what it means to be a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Hear what Knights have to say in their own words about their membership in the world's largest Catholic family service organization. "Experience of a Lifetime" (running time, 14 min.).

How we do it...
We sponsor a yearly Pancake Breakfast, Lenten Fish Fry, and Spaghetti Dinner to raise money for our mission. We hold a Corporate Communion Mass twice a year to show the parish community how united we are in our faith. We sell Tootsie Rolls every year to raise money for Organizations that help the Learning Disabled (LD) in the area. We help seniors clean-up their yards every Spring and Fall called "chore day".
We also hold an annual fishing derby, sponsor trips to Kane County Cougars games, Sox, Cubs, and Blackhawks games, Cosmic Bowling, and a Family Picnic to celebrate with our families and parish friends. We sponsor masses at CTK through Fr. Peter to bring the Parish community together.
We help out with the NESDRA Handicapped Olympics at Glenbard East High School. We hold an annual "Free-throw" contest for the youth of the community. We are active in Church, Community, Youth, Family and Council Activities throughout the year.
We are always looking for new ideas to help the parish community.

FAQ EXTRA
FAITH - HOPE - CHARITY
What the red, white and blue stands for on our symbol...
RED is then the symbol of FAITH, of belief in Christ, in the Redemptive and in the mission of every man to spread the knowledge and love of Christ. White is the color of the Eucharistic Host, pledge of God's Eucharistic presence among men, of the infinite love God had for man and of the overwhelming affection which the God-man had for each individual. WHITE is then the symbol of Christ-like CHARITY. Blue is the color of Our Lady's mantle in which She draped her beloved Son, through Whom salvation came to a sinful world. BLUE is then the symbol of HOPE
